Hairdressers, hair stylists and owners of hair salons all over the world can compete for the one-of-a-kind crystal and marble “Style Stars Global Hair Award Trophy” plus $150,000 in prizes and cash.

The online photo-based competition launched by hair icon Jesse Briggs is the first hair contest of its kind. To enter, stylists from all over the world can simply submit their photographs online at the Style Stars website (www.style-stars.com).

This accessibility makes Style Stars the first international-calibre hair contest to make such a valuable prize package available to stylists from all nations. The trophy is over 2 feet (61 cms.) tall with a dramatic crystal globe supported by a solid black marble base. The name of the 2006 contest winner will be engraved on the base and their city will be marked with an actual diamond on a map of the world to signify the global reach of this historic contest.

The winner will also receive a prize package that includes cash, trips, a diamond ring, exposure in several high-profile hair magazines, a professional photo shoot with model, expert training in hair styling and salon management techniques, and much more.

2006 Theme: Wavy and Textured

Each year the competition will have a different theme. In this, the inaugural year, the challenge for competitors is to create the best wavy, textured hair style to reflect the current popularity of long, romantic hair styles.

To enter, hair stylists submit their photos and information online or by mail. A panel of expert judges will choose ten finalists and then select the grand prize winner on Sept. 15, 2006.
