Prepare your hair with some pre-holiday conditioning. Deep conditioning treatments will replace lost moisture and re-build your hair’s structure, and don’t forget to book an appointment at the salon for when you return.
If going on a hot beach holiday, leave colouring your hair until you return, as the sun will fade any colour treatment.
Apply a deep conditioning treatment in the morning and slick your hair back for the day. The heat will enhance the effects of the treatment, leaving your hair shining with health and vitality.
Sunlight can cause just as much damage as a too hot dryer, so have a trim just before your holiday to remove split ends, as the sun will cause your hair to split further up the shaft.
In an empty water bottle, mix leave-in spray conditioner with water and use to rinse the salt and chlorine out of your hair after swimming.

LAS VEGAS–John Paul DeJoria made his first million launching the beauty salon favorite Paul Mitchell brand of hair care products and
followed that up with the high-end Patron tequila. Now, DeJoria is bankrolling a tech company.
DeJoria said he has invested “eight digits” in the past three years in UK-based ROK Corp., a maker of technology that allows people to watch movies and TV shows and get other content on their mobile devices.
At an intimate party Friday night in a penthouse suite in the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, where the Consumer Electronics Show was being held, he spoke of his passion for his latest venture.
“This company has the potential to be bigger than Paul Mitchell or Patron in a few years,” the pony-tailed DeJoria said in a brief speech to a group munching on shrimp and sipping on Patron margaritas.
“I believe in the technology,” he said in a short interview later. “My 8-year-old son works on a small play station…Streaming or movies on mobile is the future. Small clips on mobile phones is really cool.”

Having dandruff is one of the biggest problems ON EARTH. And, definitely, poverty too.
Now why would the crazy Beautynomist relate these two different terms with each other? Because it simply is one of my craziest ideas, again. Get your eyeglasses, sit comfortably, and start reading a crazy thought for the day.
Let’s start with poverty. It’s an uncurable sickness that has stricken humanity. Depressing , huh? People below the poverty line starve, get sick, and are truly helpless. Sometimes, or rather most of the time, they are driven to commit crimes because of the desperate situation.
As an Economist, my textbooks suggest ALOT of ideas, theories, and models to uplift the lives of the poor. But really, no matter how economies try, all throughout history, there are still poor people. Hopefully one day one genius would just find the perfect formula to permanently abolish poverty. It breaks my heart to see people suffering, but really, somehow I’m hoping for THE cure to come out. But as of now, it’s one kind of sickness that still has no sure-shot cure.
And so is dandruff. The flaking scalp phenomenon that troubles alot of men and women which looks like snow don’t look fascinating at all. They don’t even feel fascinating at all. It’s a result of too much formation of scales on the scalp, and is associated with fungus, though bacteria can definitely aggravate it. Dandruff is simply described as a condition of rapid turnover of skin cells.
How do you know that you have dandruff? First, upon scratching or brushing your hair, you see loose white patches. Sometimes there are “crusty” area on the scalp that you just have to scrape off. Too much scratching can lead to redness, and irritation. Sometimes ,wounds, too.
Causes?
poor nutrition
stress
fungus
oily/greasy scalp
undergoing chemical treatments (hair)
using shampoos and conditioners that are too harsh for your hair
believe it or not, styling products
too much yeast
sweating
weather changes
exposure to dust
and believe me, there are tons of reasons more. Cure?
I’m sorry, but there is still no known cure for dandruff. Ahh!! So what products are those aggressively endorsed on TV? They are just products that help get rid of dandruff for the moment. But dandruff will come back, and it’s you back to treatment.
So thinking back, I have bought almost every product for dandruff - from low-priced consumer products, to expensive dermatologist-recommended, to ridiculously high-end luxury brands. And I really thought dandruff was never coming back. And most dandruff shampoos are very harsh - some contain TAR , and Selenium Suphide, often strip moisture from the hair, and leave hair really really dry, and sometimes damaged. Colored hair will definitely die with dandruff treatments.
For a natural-based product that is great for dandruff, the Beautynomist recommends..
Davines Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
Main Ingredient : Selenium Sulphide, a known dandruff buster
Backed up by : Natural herbs, such as essential oils of pine, sage as purifying ingredients, and wheat proteins to moisturize and get hair in great condition.

For the beach babes that just are smitten with the beautiful sunshine, please do make sure that your hair gets the tender loving it gets,
specially when it is the most exposed part of the body. Yes, your gorgeous locks can grab attention, but they’re the first to be damaged when the sun strikes.
Another thing to consider is that when your hair is colored. According to my Chemistry class ( woah, from Economist to Chemist? Just this once! ) , once a chemical is exposed to light, or heat, it reacts. In the case of our hair, when colored hair, or even chemically treated hair ( rebond, perm, relax, etc. ) is exposed to sun lights, our hair screams “I’m getting baked, and burned!!! ”
A great product to take care coloured or chemically treated hair is the
Loreal - Professionnel Vitamino Color Gel Masque.
Loreal - Professionnel Vitamino Color Gel Masque is a hair masque to be used twice a week , like a DIY hotoil at home. Imagine how much a salon hotoil would cost, versus this product. This product can definitely give you more than 4 hotoil sessions!
I will say this, and will always say this - DIY Hotoil sessions are about just the same as salon hotoils, as long as you use the same products. The Vitamino Color is a salon product, and is sold to salons, and is used for hotoils for coloured hair! So you can’t go wrong with this. Tons of savings in your part, since you have a jarful on your bathroom, versus the few scoops they apply on you at the salon.
This hair masque repairs coloured and chemically treated hair, and brings back the shine in a jiffy! How? thanks to the shine-inducing ceramide, with candelilla wax, for the most brilliant shade of your locks.
I have no doubt that this is a great product for I have used this and other L’Oreal Professionel products. Not only are they very very effective, they are also reasonably priced that delivers great results!

Perhaps having frizzy hair is the most common complaint I’ve heard from girls. I mean hello, the moment hair relaxing, rebonding, or
straightening procedures were born, gosh, the salons have been simply been swarmed with clients! ( whoopee for the salons! )
The main trick to preventing frizzy hair from occuring is closing down the outer layer of the hair strand, which is the cuticle. It’s simply called “cooling”. Remember for the face, warm water is used to open pores, and cold water to close pores? This also works the same way. Think, think think.
So, follow these steps, and help tame , and prevent the frizz!
When showering, always rinse hair with cold water to close the cuticles.
As I suggested from my entry about dandruff, some water and lemon juice for hair rinsing would not only get rid of dandruff, it would also add some shine!
Right after showering, okay, you grab for the towel. Woops! Don’t just rub your hair! It creates friction, and is a sure shot to frizzy hair. You CAN actually, squeeze your hair from excess water. Sometimes, if you’re in a good mood, patting it would do wonders.
Use a wide tooth plastic comb to detangle wet hair. NEVER, never use brushes or fine toothed combs on wet hair. Hair is so elastic when wet, that they easily break. They also cause the hair to frizz that way.
Regularly maintain your hair by trimming it at least once a month or once in a few weeks. That advice is to prevent split ends, and split ends, as the aggravate and work their way up your hair, amplifies and worsens the frizz…So, you get my drift!
Avoid : alcohol-based styling products, and if you don’t have to blowdry your hair on a given day, give it a rest. Too much processes would literally kill your hair.
Also, here are some hair care, and hair styling products ( relatively safe ) that can help you maintain a beautiful, smooth, frizz-free hair
If your hair is hopelessly frizzy still, hair treatments such as Extenso ( the first picture ) , rebonding, and straightening would help, but needs maintenance since straight, but dry hair is as bad as frizzy hair.
For maintenance, intensive conditioning at least once or twice a week will not only keep your hair well-moisturized, but also soft, smooth, and sleek!
My ultimate favorite, Kerastase Nutritive Oleo-Relax Smoothing Masque.
I wish I could recommend something more inexpensive, but this is just the best there is! I’m betting you’d SAVE tons of cash by endlessly trying other products, until you stumble upon this one. It’s weird that I’m mentioning savings from buying an expensive product. Yes, there is such a thing as saving money from buying a sure-shot product that you know that would work.
With styling products, here are some good ones :
The Tigi - Bed Head Control Freak Serum can be applied on damp hair, and as the hair dries, it won’t be as frizzy! For sleek hair, this one’s a great one.
Everyone hates frizzy hair, specially frizzy curly hair! Simply disastrous.
Bumble and Bumble - Curls DeFRIZZwill ensure you great, smooth curls, without the ugliness of frizz. Wow!
Tata for now!
